The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the development of individual capabilities, competences, skills and understanding in pre-school children, enhanced development of the children, more confident children and sound educational foundation for the children. These benefits are demonstrated through Education and Training

Inspectorate inspections, Social Services inspections and regular feedback from parents through evaluation forms and interviews. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are Children aged 2 years 10 months -5 years in the Macosquin area and its surrounding counties. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is employment of pre-school assistants who receive a wage. This is necessary and incidental to carrying out the purpose.

What your organisation does

Macosquin Community Pre-School provides a high quality, specialized, play based pre-school education for children aged 2 years 10 months -5 years, 5 days a week. It follows the Pre-school curriculum laid down by Department of Education, Northern Ireland. The service is offered to children across the community and is inclusive of children with

special educational needs and those who have English as a second language.

Charitable purposes

The Group is established to promote a high quality play based learning environment for all children over the age of 2 years and 10 months and under statutory school age (herein referred to as the beneficiaries) of Macosquin village and its surrounding counties (herein known as area of benefit) without distinction of gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion. In carrying out these purposes the group aims to: a. Support the values and principles of Early Years b. To associate with the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants of the area of benefit in a common effort to advance education, c. To advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/carers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group; and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries.
