Purpose (object) A The direct benefits which flow from purpose (a) includes giving people a meeting place to get together with others to enjoy social interaction and to take part in activities of a social and recreational nature. The participants learn new skills and share their own knowledge and skills with each other. These benefits are

demonstrated through feedback from participants and beneficiaries and by the level of uptake of our activities. The purpose of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the Ballee area of Down District. There will be no private benefit to trustees. Purpose (Object) B The direct benefits which flow from purpose (b) includes the education of people in a range of subjects including cookery, horticulture, outdoor play and so on. These benefits are demonstrated through the number of people completing the courses, feedback from participants and by the level of uptake of our activities. The purpose of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the Ballee area of Down District. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training and education programmes. Through this training trustees may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

Ballee and District Community Group organises a range of projects and workshops located at Ballee Non Subscribing Presbyterian Church Hall, Ballee Road, Downpatrick. These include:- Yoga sessions for older people Art activities for primary school children Cookery classes for primary school children Recreational and leisure trips for secondary

school children 2 weeks of summer activities for primary school children that include cookery, horticulture, visual and performance arts and outdoor play 1 week of summer activities in outdoor adventure activities for primary school and secondary school children Hanging basket workshops for adults

Charitable purposes

To address individual and social needs, enhance the lives of those who are disadvantaged in any way and promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Ballee and district area without distinction of age, sex, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating with statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
