Indirect benefit supporting parents to re-enter the labour market whilst we provide high quality childcare and wider benefit by providing a much needed resource in an area ranked number one in the multiply deprivation measure for Northern Ireland Give parents the right to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the Company – carrying out the charity purpose directly by involving parents in the running of Small Wonders Childcare, by giving out feedback forms, Suggestion boxes and by gaining parents involvement through the option of becoming member s of the Board of Trustee’s Encourage the study of the needs of such children and their families and promote public interest in and recognition of the needs of such children and their families in the local area carrying out the charity purpose by direct benefit through identifying the needs of each child and using resources and staff training to meet those needs thus indirectly benefiting their parents in a socially deprived area Advance the education and training of the persons who provide such care, education and recreational facilities carrying out the charity purpose direct benefit by providing necessary and ongoing training enabling the staff to provide a high quality support and service that indirectly benefits the children for whom they are caring for. There is no harm flowing from the purposes. There is no private benefit flowing form the purposes. The beneficiaries of the organisation is the children we care for and their parents enabling them to work or train to gain qualifications. This in turn benefits the wider community.

What your organisation does

Small Wonders childcare is a social economy business owned by Shankill Women’s Centre. The social aims are to provide a high quality childcare business that supports parents to return to work and training. Small Wonders Childcare is not for profit for any individual but to provide any profit to Shankill Women’s Centre to help support their social

aims of Education and Training for Women within this Social and Economically disadvantaged area. Small Wonders Childcare provides one third of its childcare free of charge to disadvantaged women, who are trying to better themselves through courses, education, health and training within Shankill Women’s Centre. Small Wonders looks after children from six weeks to twelve years and opens from 7:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday
