Public benefits
Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school: The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not lead
to harm. The benefit is for children at St. Patrick's Primary School. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. This purpose does not lead to harm.
What your organisation does
Our PTA is made up of a group of elected parents and staff. As a group we aim to include all parents and staff in our operation. We do this by inviting parents and staff to share their skills and help at our events such as Holy Communion, Confirmation, Sports Day or any other PTA event. We believe that good communication is the key to our PTA
success and we publish regular newsletters and updates. Our organisation fundraises throughout the year in order to advance the education of our children. Every year we hold a Christmas raffle. All prizes are donated by the PTA and local businesses. We also hold an Easter fundraiser and we have a tuck shop at the school sports day. The PTA agree expenditure of funds raised with the school principal to ensure the maximum benefit to all our pupils. We donate all raised funds to the school to allow them to purchase class and playground equipment that is needed and organise fun days at Halloween and Christmas. We aim to apply for any grants that are applicable to us. Our PTA plan to organise a number of fundraising social events throughout the school year which will be open to pupils, parents, family, friends and the wider local community.
