Public benefits
There are a number of benefits flowing from the following; “The purpose of the charity is to provide participation and training in youth football for the Shore Rd, York Rd, and surrounding districts and is based on the ethics fair play, cross-community involvement and mutual understanding with others.” Through providing facilities for
participation and training in youth football, participants are improving their physical condition and improving their aerobic capacity. Through participating in association football young people are able to enjoy interaction with others, the opportunity to express themselves and socially interact in a safe place which stimulates endorphins which improve the mood of young people, helping their confidence and reduce stress. At the minute we work with approximately 80-90 children each week through programmes delivered at Loughside Playing fields. Through directly participating in activities which are structured and led by qualified volunteers, inhabitants benefit through improving their skills which include co-ordination, fundamental movements such as kicking, catching, throwing, running and jumping. Through providing programmes such as Easter camps, Summer Camps and cross community intervention programmes in areas of North Belfast we provide a benefit to the wider community through reducing tensions amongst youths and channelling them into more positive activities. We received positive feedback from Belfast City Council and local inhabitants in 2015 through the delivery of a summer intervention football programme for youths, which then allows 8 NEET’s to gain IFA Level 1 coaching qualifications. These teens now regular volunteer with our charity which helps their self esteem and makes them feel wanted and needed within their community. Through promoting ethics of fair play, mutual understanding and attracting inhabitants from various religions and ethnicities we allow young people to grow up respecting each other which promote good relations and equality. We constantly liaise with our participants and parents to talk to them about our activities and how we can make them better and we pride ourselves on offering needs led activities additional to our core programmes. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The beneficiaries of the above purpose are the general public. There are no private benefits flowing from this purpose.
