Public benefits
The public benefit which flows from our purpose is reduced levels of hardship and stress, particularly where the main bread winner has died, leaving the widow with a financial shortfall. These grants also assist widows who by reason of age or infirmity are in residential or nursing care, the grants assist the widow to obtain clothing or personal
hygiene products. The grants also assist with the expense of home heating fuels, especially during the winter months. Demonstrating the benefit: During the past 12 months we have issued grants to 238 widows. There is no private benefit or harm.
What your organisation does
We provide grants of money twice yearly to the widows of deceased Orangemen of Belfast, who's Orange Lodges were confined to the County Grand Orange Lodge of Belfast, Black Preceptory's of the City of Belfast Grand Black Chapter and Apprentice Boys of Derry Clubs working within the City of Belfast and are in connection with the Fund either by
donation or subscription. The Fund may assist the widow throughout her life by means of continued grants.
