Purpose 1: To advance the education of pupils in the school (Through the medium of Irish) What are the benefits that flow as a result of the purpose being carried out? The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are increased educational progress and attainment of pupils within the school and links built with the local community. How are these
benefits capable of being demonstrated? These benefits are capable of being demonstrated by pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community, which are not available through direct school funding. Who are the intended beneficiaries? Is there any harm or potential for harm as a result of the purpose being carried out? This purpose doesn’t lead to any harm and the benefit is for children at Gaelscoil Éadain Mhóir and Naíscoil Éadain mhóir nursery unit. Does anyone receive a private benefit as a result of the purpose being carried out? Charity trustees are usually also parents at the school, which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Purpose 2: To improve relationships between staff, parents & others associated with the school. What are the benefits that flow as a result of the purpose being carried out? The direct benefits, which flow from this purpose, include funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. How are these benefits capable of being demonstrated? These benefits are evidenced by having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. Who are the intended beneficiaries? Is there any harm or potential for harm as a result of the purpose being carried out? This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are children at Gaelscoil Éadain Mhóir and Naíscoil Éadain mhóir nursery unit. Does anyone receive a private benefit as a result of the purpose being carried out? How are these benefits capable of being demonstrated? These benefits are evidenced through feedback from service users and regular independent evaluation of our services by Foras na Gaeilge and other funders. Who are the intended beneficiaries? Is there any harm or potential for harm as a result of the purpose being carried out? This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are children at Gaelscoil Éadain Mhóir and Naíscoil Éadain mhóir nursery unit. Does anyone receive a private benefit as a result of the purpose being carried out? What your organisation does
Gaelscoil Éadain Mhóir PTA (Cairde na Gaelscoile) provide educational resources for the school and organises family-friendly community events to generate funds. Regular fundraising events include spring and winter fairs, Easter and Christmas activities and decorating competitions, quiz nights, Bingo nights and annual main fundraising events such as
charity bag packing events. Recent purchases have included reading books for a new library area in conjunction with accelerated reading, outdoor play equipment and an outdoor classroom.
