The General Service Mission meets the public benefit requirement under the category "The Advancement of Religion". The organisation offers a building to Christian Mission Organisations in order to further the spread of Christianity. What are the benefits which flow as a result of the purpose being carried out? GSM own and maintain a property which

is used by Christian Mission Organisations. The public benefits fall under 'The advancement of Religion', namely to: - spread the principles of Christianity? - raise awareness and understanding of Christianity - carry out missionary and outreach work How are these benefits capable of being demonstrated? The property is used by Christian organisations, reaching out into the local community, to introduce individuals to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Currently the property is used by an organisation called 'The Drop-In' who use the hall 3 nights a week (Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays), running clubs and activities for children and young people. GSM provide the building but have no direct contact with the children or young people attending these activities. The Drop-In are responsible for CRB checks and child protection matters including training. Who are the intended beneficiaries of the purpose? The local community benefit from the organisation(s) using the property. At present, this includes children and young people and parents/carers who have contact with leaders from 'The Drop-In'. Is there any harm or potential for harm as a result of the purpose being carried out? Activities are attended voluntarily by children and young people. They have choice with regards belief; no pressure is put on individuals therefore we do not see this as being harmful. Does anyone gain a private benefit as a result of the purpose being carried out? No private benefits result from the purpose being carried out. All GSM committee members are volunteers, as are 'The Drop-In' workers currently using the property.

What your organisation does

The General Service Mission own a building comprising of a main hall, a number of smaller side rooms, a kitchen/serving area and toilet facilities. These premises are used by Christian workers who run a variety of activities in order to introduce people to Jesus Christ.
