Public benefits
To provide facilities in the interests of health improvement and to reduce social isolation for the elderly through the provision of educational resources, access to activities including recreational activities and to social services. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes improvement in conditions for the life of the inhabitants, to
improve health and well-being and lead to a reduction in the chances of social isolation happening. The purpose which flows includes increased participation, in activities, events, access to information to ensure the attainment of the elderly to increase their skill, enjoyment and social interaction, improvement in mental and physical health. This is demonstrated through having access to resources, equipment, courses, information which would not otherwise be available and through providing opportunities to meet. The purpose will not lead to harm. The benefit is for all of the elderly within Antrim and its surrounding area. This is demonstrated through the partnership and networking within the community and other bodies to promote research, conferencing, lectures and training courses. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for the elderly community of Antrim and the surrounding area, the benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
Antrim Happy Hearts is made up of 9 Committee Members. All elderly residents are encouraged to become actively involved and take advantage of the services and activities which are aimed at improving their health and wellbeing and supply the volunteer manpower which is required. As a committee we always evaluate and monitor events, activities and
initiatives which we run to ensure that they are as successful as possible and to gauge the opinion of the elderly and to keep them actively informed. Antrim Happy Hearts retain close links with statutory authorities and voluntary and community sector organisations.

Charitable purposes
The Group is established to improve the wellbeing of older people in the Antrim area in any manner deemed by law to be charitable and will seek to bring people older people together in order to reduce isolation through a range of activities and in particular: (a) To organise such specific services and activities for the well being of older people as are desirable. (b) To service as a centre for information for those interested in the welfare of older people and also to provide networking opportunities. (c) To focus attention on the needs of and services available for older people by promoting or helping promote research, conferences, lectures and training courses. (d) To bring together representation of local voluntary agencies, statutory bodies and individuals in furtherance of the above.
