Public benefits
The purposes of The Secret Garden (Hillsborough) Ltd are to relieve people with learning disabilities or physical, sensory or other impairment, mental ill health or who are vulnerable due to social or economic circumstances through the provision of advice, information and support to gain access to employment, educational, economic, health, housing,
leisure, social welfare and other services on the same basis as others without such disadvantages. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are that vulnerable individuals are facilitated to participate fully in everyday living through the opportunity to access services on the same basis as others without such disadvantages. Vulnerable individuals can enjoy an improved quality of life. Families and carers of vulnerable individuals will also benefit. The charity’s beneficiaries are those individuals in Northern Ireland that have learning disabilities or physical, sensory or other impairment or mental ill health. The beneficiaries also include family and carers of individuals. The benefits are evidenced through feedback from stakeholder and service user surveys and service user outcomes. While there is a risk that conditions may deteriorate or not improve, the benefits outweigh the risk. There is no private benefit.
