Public benefits
Purpose One Promote for the public benefit amateur sport, education, culture, healthy recreation and, in the interests of social welfare, other leisure-time occupations by: Establishing and managing facilities and amenities at the Taylors Avenue grounds; and organising, presenting and delivering sports, education and training, cultural and leisure
activities, programmes, events and initiatives. The community will have access to increased opportunities to participate in educational and training initiatives which are delivered in a safe, accessible venue. This will lead to greater levels of community involvement which will help reduce social isolation, build community confidence, and increase local levels of skills and knowledge. The direct benefit flowing from this, is a safe and neutral facility for residents of the said area of benefit to use for meetings or training courses with various educational or government bodies. The benefit is evidenced by word of mouth from the attendees and feedback after using the Centre from the organisational bodies. This purpose does not lead to any harm. The benefit is for all inhabitants within the environs of Taylors Avenue in Carrickfergus . A private benefit flowing from this is that a trustee or family member may use the Centre in same manner as all other residents, this is purely incidental and necessary, so that the benefit is available to all. Purpose Two Advance community development by engaging with and assisting sports and other voluntary and community groups and organisations to organise, deliver and participate in activities, events and initiatives. The direct benefit flowing from this a more informed society and healthier community lifestyle, giving them a better standard of living conditions and environment. This is evidenced by the group’s representation on the various Committees, and via the community newsletter outlining the successes carried out for the community. The purpose does not lead to any harm. This benefit is for all within the Taylors Avenue community. The private benefit for Group members is in line with the rest of the community, which is gaining a healthier lifestyle, and being better informed, this is purely incidental and necessary so that the benefit is available to all. Purpose Three Promote good community relations, social cohesion, racial harmony and equality and diversity. The direct benefit is a united community which has come together as one to achieve its targets. Further benefits is a more vibrant and inclusive society via the educational programmes and recreational activities. The key target is to help build an inclusive and tolerant community in Carrickfergus that is a peaceful and harmonious place to live, visit and work. We will provide the physical space and activities that will help advance this through, educational, recreational and sporting programmes. These benefits are evidenced through the diverse set up within the organisation, also through feedback generated from the activities laid on by the organisation. The purpose does not lead to any harm. These benefits are for all residents within the Taylors Avenue area. Private benefits from these are purely incidental and necessary to any group member, as family members of all can avail of any opportunities arising.
What your organisation does
The organisation has a vast wealth of skills and expertise within its members, including local, national and international business experience, academics, health care professionals, civic, youth and community leaders, construction managers, finance expertise, sports development coaches and an internationally recognised sports star. The Partnership
provides opportunities for the regeneration of the Taylors Avenue area and supports the introduction of health, recreational and educational programmes for young people and disadvantaged communities in the area. The volunteer base currently comes from utilising the networks arising from the board members parent organisations, this include health workers, youth workers, sports workers and older peoples workers.
