Public benefits

The purpose of our organisation is the advancement of education in young children in their pre-school year. What is the benefit? The benefit from our purposes includes increased independence, confidence and self-esteem and increased self-worth through a safe and secure positive environment. The children will develop healthy relationships and have

the opportunity to develop their learning, where each child is valued and respected. We promote health and well- being through opportunities to be active both indoors and outdoors and indoors as well as to relax and rest, and provision of nutritious snack food and drinks which contribute to health and well being, growth and development; development of skills and experiences through the provision of a range of broad and balanced activities and a stimulating environment; encouragement to build natural curiosity, explore, use their imagination, express their own ideas and develop their communication and language skills alongside their social skills. How is the benefit demonstrated? We use a parent questionnaire after the initial settling in period then again in February /March to measure the benefit of the group. • Some statements included in the Parent Feedback form would be; • My child is very happy in the Playgroup and likes to share all their experiences when I pick her up. • My son has learnt a lot and his behaviour has changed, for the better, during his time in the group. • I love the fact that the playgroup is small and my childs experiences are of a high standard. I like that he receives a lot of individual attention. • The staff are always approachable and I feel that if I had any issues they would be dealt with appropriately and promptly. Is there any harm? There is no harm from our purposes. Who are the beneficiaries? Pre-school children from the local area , as well as their parents, carers and extended families.

What your organisation does

We are a small non profit playgroup situated in a small primary school in a mixed religion area. we welcome children from both sides of the community and seek to develop the links within that area. We are situated in an interface area which has seen some atrocities over the years. In our playgroup we bring the children together and encourage

them and their families to work together for a common goal which is education and community spirit. The children in our group come from mostly socially deprived families and this is their only access to pre-school education. While we support and further the education and social skills of our children we encourage the advancement of our parents education. we provide small training classes to help parents understand the everchanging needs of their children. We follow the National Curriculum when delivering educational programmes for our children. we provide snack and lunch and physical programmes for the children.
