Public benefits

We Go Together Support Group operates in a very rural area of West Fermanagh, an area that has little available resources to meet socially. We offer a beneficial resource to the people of our community by providing a meeting place for anyone in our community who is or has been affected by cancer or serious illness, along with their family, friends

or carers, to be able to come together and share experiences, receive support, friendship and understanding over a cup of tea or coffee. This can help alleviate some of the monotony and boredom associated with illness and isolation. The group aims to improve the lives of people of our community by organizing informative health awareness talks, hosting guest speakers on relevant topics and organizing suitable health related activities whilst also helping to regenerate community activity through social interaction. We do not offer specific medical advice but rather signpost people to other relevant support services and charities available to them with the aim of making these people more knowledgeable and informed to deal with their situation, whilst also promoting the effectiveness of other charitable organisations. We operate using volunteers and therefore we are promoting the voluntary sector and encouraging voluntary activity within our community. We do not charge anyone who avails of our facilities and operate on a "not for profit" basis. The only private benefit to our trustees is that they will, over time, become more knowledgeable regarding health awareness through attending various health awareness talks and guest speaker events. This is totally incidental and will benefit the general public as a whole as this acquired knowledge can be passed on.
