Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from our purposes is to provide opportunities for Carers, Past Carers and their families to meet and socialise with each other helping reduce social isolation and provide much needed support. These benefits flow from events, meetings and workshop where advice is provided on services available to carers, learning of
new skills, sharing of concerns and unburdening and airing of recurring problems and to give time out from their caring responsibilities. Carers benefit from undertaking holistic therapies to relief stress thereby generating improved mental health and wellbeing. Families of carers benefit from this by having a Carer who returns to them feeling energised and has developed self-help techniques to cope with stressful situations, they also would have better understanding of the sources of help available, in addition family days provide opportunities for all to come together to share experiences and reduce isolation. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback both verbal and evaluation forms and indeed the level of uptake of our activities. A private benefit to Trustees may arise through their participation in events, workshops and meetings as they will gain skills and experience which is transferable to their home and other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure that our beneficiaries have an improved quality of life.
