The direct benefits which flow from purpose (a) include increased confidence and self belief in such a way that the beneficiaries are enabled to better identify their needs and to participate more fully in society. The beneficiaries will also benefit from increased levels of knowledge and skills. These benefits will help relief of physical and
mental health stress improving health outcomes, reduction in poverty and reduced levels of stress and anxiety. The benefits will be evidenced through feedback from the beneficiaries and through monitoring the increase in membership .This purpose does not give rise to any harm .The beneficiaries of this purpose are former and current security force personnel and ancillary support staff living within Northern Ireland who served in Co. Armagh during the troubles and their families. There is no private benefit from this purpose. The direct benefits which flow from purpose (b) include community capacity building leading to a better and more inclusive understanding of the issues faced by the beneficiaries, thus reducing social exclusion, stress and anxiety leading to a more positive interaction within the community. The benefits will be evidenced through feedback from the beneficiaries and through monitoring community engagement with planned activities within the group. This purpose does not give rise to any harm .The beneficiaries of this purpose are former and current security force personnel and ancillary support staff living within Northern Ireland who served in Co. Armagh during the troubles and their families. There is no private benefit from this purpose. The direct benefits which flow from purpose(c) include increased levels of knowledge and skills resulting in improved confidence and self worth leading to improved health outcomes and reduced levels of stress and anxiety. The benefits will be evidenced through feedback from the beneficiaries and through monitoring the attendance at training /workshops. This purpose does not give rise to any harm .The beneficiaries of this purpose are former and current security force personnel and ancillary support staff living within Northern Ireland who served in Co. Armagh during the troubles and their families. There is no private benefit from this purpose. The direct benefits which flow from purpose (d) include breaking down of isolation and relieving the needs of those who are socially excluded, enhancing independence and confidence leading to a reduction in stress and anxiety and increased protection and preservation of emotional mental health and well being. The benefits will be evidenced through feedback from the beneficiaries and through monitoring the increase in numbers using the service. This purpose does not give rise to any harm .The beneficiaries of this purpose are former and current security force personnel and ancillary support staff living within Northern Ireland who served in Co. Armagh during the troubles and their families. There is no private benefit from this purpose.
What your organisation does
Out of The Shadows operates within the Co. Armagh area of Northern Ireland to provide current and former security force personnel and their families with support and advice in areas of welfare advice, signposting to outside agencies in areas such as mental health , social interaction and skill building opportunities.. We operate a drop in facility
4 days a week to provide advice and sign posting as well as to provide a social setting for beneficiaries to just call in and have a chat or meet up with colleagues. We provide an outreach service to those most vulnerable beneficiaries who cannot avail of the drop in facility through mobility issues, illness , mental health issues etc. We provide provision for social interaction through social activities and skill building to promote engagement and reduce social isolation in increasing connection and the opportunities to meet others.

Charitable purposes
The objectives of Out of the Shadows are to act as a resource for current and former security force personnel and ancillary support staff who served during the Troubles and their families living within Northern Ireland,by providing advice and support and organising programmes of physical, educational and social activities as a means of advancing opportunities for personal development and strengthening confidence and self value through shared learning to enable the beneficiaries to participate in society providing opportunities for community engagement to enable a positive influence within the wider community of the perception of the role of the beneficiaries within the Northern Ireland context advancing education and skills training and to develop capacities and capabilities through education and training opportunities with a view to improve life conditions of the beneficiaries relief and reduce social isolation of the beneficiaries and to improve emotional health and well being among the beneficiaries in order to improve their conditions of life and raise awareness of the issues affecting them and to improve social engagement.
