Public benefits
Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not lead to
harm. The benefit is for children at Millisle Primary School. Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. What your organisation does
The FMPS have a vested interest in advancing the education of pupils in the school. Where possible the benefits which flow from this purpose include, increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. We also aim to make the activities as fun and engaging as possible, so that all those
who attend are glad they got involved! Pupils gain access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. So therefore, our involved is incredibly valuable in providing broad, entertaining learning experiences for the children. There is a calendar of events planned and confirmed with all school stakeholders. This includes a variety of events (some of which differ each year in order to maintain a level of contribution) to generate funds to be used to benefit the school and the pupils. The FMPS meets regularly throughout the academic year and always welcomes new members. The organisation duties are distributed where possible, which provides members with a feeling of empowerment. FMPS committee members would summarise their role as, working collaboratively whilst fostering positive friendships and relationships to enhance the educational outcomes of the pupils at Millisle Primary School.
