Purpose 1 To promote rural regeneration for the benefit of the youth, the aged and the inhabitants of Maydown and its environs of County Londonderry. To increase standard of living for those people who live in the Maydown Area and to increase development and awareness of rural life. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from the local
community. There is a high attendance from the people who live in the area to the events which are held in the area such as family fun days and Halloween fireworks display. There is no potential harm as all volunteers and staff are fully trained. The charity’s beneficiaries are the people, both young and old who live within the Maydown area. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is people of this group live within the Maydown area, but they would still be able to avail of the services provided by Maydown community association with no preference to them over any other member of the public living in the area. Purpose 2 To promote the protection and preservation of health within the area of benefit by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include increased access to education, leading to reduced levels of unemployment. This will in turn increase the standard of living and reduce levels of isolation that can often occur when living in rural areas. These benefits are evident through a reduction in the level of unemployment, lower levels of anti-social behaviour in the area. Increase sense of community. This can be seen through surveys taken through the Maydown community and by feedback from the attendees of the courses. There is no potential harm from this purpose The main beneficiaries are those who live in the Maydown area The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is people of this group live within the Maydown area, but they would still be able to avail of the services provided by Maydown community association with no preference to them over any other member of the public living in the area. Purpose 3 To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular, the provision of programmes in order to advance education and to promote the benefit of the beneficiaries and in particular aged 6 - 18, parents and toddlers, senior citizens and those with disabilities. The direct benefits which flow from the purpose include increased social interaction between those who live in a rural area. There will be reduced levels of isolation for those who live in the Maydown area. There will be increased standard of living and direct benefit to the local community through the provision of educational resources. These benefits are demonstrated through the high numbers of participants from the Maydown area. There is also feedback from the participants. Maydown Community Association can show that there is no potential harm through this purpose. The charity’s beneficiaries are those who live in the Maydown area aged 6 – 18, parents and toddlers, senior citizens and those with disabilities. What your organisation does
The Organisation seeks to look after the welfare of the Inhabitants of Maydown and its environs of County Londonderry,by ensuring in dealing with Statutory, Council and Government Agencies that all Amenities are in place for local useage and that Roads and other essential services are not only in place but are maintained to the highest level.The
Organisation in its dealings with all Statutory and Voluntary Bodies does its best to Issue a Newsletter every 2-3 months to update The Local Inhabitants to all the relevant News Requirements which are and will be ongoing. The Organisation also tries to ensure that Funding can be obtained for Fun and Intergenerational Days as well as A Hallowe'en Fun Night with Fireworks.
