Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from the purpose of the Association include giving people opportunities and facilities to get together with others to enjoy social interaction and to take part in activities of a social and recreational nature. The participants learn new skills and share their own knowledge and skills with each other. The participants
also benefit from activities designed to improve their physical and mental well-being and to learn more about good practice in community development. The Association also encourages local people to engage with other agencies to improve the overall environment of our area which includes developing and implementing projects to improve the social, natural and built environment. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from participants and beneficiaries and by the level of uptake of our activities and by the number and quality of projects implemented. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the Seaforde area. A private benefit to trustees may arise from the programme of ongoing support to community and voluntary groups. Through this support, trustees may gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
The Association organises events and activities which are open to all members of the community. They are advertised in the local press, local shops and by means of occasional leaflets and newsletters. Examples of such events and activities are dance classes, children's parties, drams workshops, multi-cultural food and dance demonstrations, nature
walks and craft fairs. The Association has campaigned and raised much-needed funds for the village Young Farmers' Hall which acts as a cross-community meeting place and is where most of our activities take place.
