Public benefits

HAP Ards and North Down is established to advance education and raise public awareness in relation to home safety throughout the district and, in doing so, to support the work of Home Accident Prevention Northern Ireland. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include a reduction in the number of deaths and injuries resulting from

accidents in the home. These benefits can be demonstrated by fewer visits to A and E departments, minor injury units and GP surgeries. The beneficiaries are residents of the Ards and North Down Borough Council area particularly older people and young children who are the most vulnerable groups in regards to home accidents. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose.
