Public benefits

The public benefit of the organisation is for residents of the Castlederg & surrounding area regardless of colour, creed, age, sex or disability. The direct beneficiaries are those people who attend classes, courses & drop-in centre. Participants benefit from attending debt information workshops thus reducing poverty amongst families and

increasing access to benefits. Participants also benefit from reduced isolation and increase in skills base as they attend courses/training. Indirect beneficiaries are the families of those who attend the services who will have reduces poverty, reduced stress and social isolation as a family member receives appropriate guidance, support and training. The benefits are demonstrated by monitoring the number of people attending the services. We also regularly hold focus group discussions to monitor benefits. There is no harm to beneficiaries. The private benefit is incidental and necessary as children of members may attend some services.

What your organisation does

The organisation provides the following services - 1. Youth drop-in centre for young people aged 11-20 years 2. Provision of recreational, educational & social classes eg craft classes, money management workshops, etc. 3. Provision of a parents & toddlers drop-in, 4. Provision of a befriending and support to people who are vulnerable or

disadvantaged ie those with addictions or mental health issues, 5. Provision of volunteer opportunities, support and training as required to enhance their personal development, 6. Host training & workshops on relevant lifestyle topics such as parenting, relationships, etc. 7. Provision of Street Pastors Team to provide refreshments & support on the streets of Castlederg on a monthly basis.
