Public benefits

Burren Vision trustees confirm that as a direct result of our purpose all activities will: ? Have a far-reaching positive impact on community life in the Burren area as underpinning all our plans and proposals are efforts and opportunities to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of our community. ? Significantly enhance opportunities for

local people to benefit from social, leisure, educational and sporting activities in a safe environment, helping to counter social isolation within a rural community. ? Accommodate a great many more people, regardless of background/ ethnicity and circumstance, which in turn will give rise for better community cohesion and awareness of developing support across the life cycle. Activities will provide people with information, practical skills and physical exercise to help tackle health inequalities. ? Enable preventative measures to be offered to avert potential crises, keeping people well. Burren Vision will actively seek to engage pre-school, school age, young and ageing adults in learning new skills that will promote positive mental health, prevent suicide and self-harm, healthy living whilst supporting people with regards diet, nutrition, isolation, loneliness, poverty, changing roles and in doing so boosting people’s resilience, coping skills, quality of life and social/ support networks. Burren Vision cannot foresee any action that will: ? Result in harm to any beneficiary. ? Serve any private benefit to the committee or its associates. ? Exclude any potential beneficiary on the basis of cost. There may at times be a charge applied to activities relating to the direct cost of delivering them. Burren Vision will ensure that all charges are reasonable, consider concessionary options and do not exclude anyone from participating. It is confirmed that Burren Vision trustees and associates will act in an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive manner at all times and promote open and equal access to all planned activities for local benefit, irrespective of disability, religion, gender, marital status, age or race, enabling full participation in our local community.

What your organisation does

Burren Vision is a group of local people directly involved in the delivery of a wide range of activities for the local community who have come together to modernise local facilities due to them not being fit for purpose and the increasing demand and necessity for meaningful engagement of our rural population. Our vision is ‘To provide a social

community hub that provides for improved health and wellbeing for the entire locality regardless of ability, belief or age through enhanced facilities and services.’ Burren Vision is and will be responsible for the design and build of our new community facility, it's subsequent support programme of activity and all associated enabling fundraising efforts. It is also envisaged that when possible the Burren Vision Group will employ people to run the programme operationally.
