Public benefits
Purpose 1: To advance education. The direct benefits which flow this purpose include improved knowledge and skills on a range of topics (e.g. literacy, numeracy, IT skills, health care) for adults, young people and children. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from service users and organisations based at the Trinity Centre. The
beneficiaries are people within the catchment area of Lisburn Methodist Church (i.e. West Lisburn). There is no private benefit to Trustees. Purpose 2: To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation. The direct benefits which flow this purpose include improved quality of life, improved leisure and sporting skills and associated health benefits for adults, young people and children. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from service users and organisations based at the Trinity Centre. Charitable purposes
The Association is established to meet the practical, social and spiritual needs within the catchment area of Trinity Methodist Church (hereinafter called the 'area of benefit') without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, class, marital status, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary and community sector organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular: a) To involve a representative cross section of the community in the management of the Association. b) To work in partnership with other local voluntary and community organisations to ensure the optimum use of resources and the integration of services. c) To promote cross community contact. d) To meet the training and employment needs of local young people and adults. e) To meet the personal development needs of children and young people. f) To meet the needs of local senior citizens and older people g) To co-operate with Trinity Methodist Church in the maintenance of a centre or centres in the area of benefit for activities promoted by the association.
