1. To advance education within Zambia or other countries within Africa or Asia. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include improved economic capacity and alleviation & reduction of the risk of deprivation. These benefits are demonstrated through the monitoring of the economic status of those who have gone through programmes and also
the direct profitable benefit of programmes, such as business start-ups. There is a very low likelihood of any harm flowing from this purpose. The charity’s beneficiaries are those within Africa and Asia particularly from a disadvantaged economic situation. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of ongoing training in good governance, finance etc. Through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. 2. To advance education within Zambia or other countries within Africa or Asia. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include advancement of the Christian faith, the salvation of souls and the encouragement of Christian characteristics in the lives of the beneficiaries. These benefits are demonstrated through the regular monitoring and feedback from the individuals who go through the various programmes. In seeking to advance the Christian faith there is a risk partner organisations stray from the statement of faith set out in the organisation’s constitution. In order to mitigate against this partner organisations will need to agree with the statement of faith before the partnership begins and this relationship will be reviewed on a regular basis. However this risk is rare and the benefit outweighs the harm The charity’s beneficiaries are those within Africa and Asia particularly from a disadvantaged economic situation. What your organisation does
The organisation currently operates a number of programmes that fulfil its public benefit statements outlined above. These include: - a microloan scheme where groups of disadvantaged adults come for business training and mentoring, and then apply for a loan to start their own business. - a pre-primary, primary and secondary
education sponsorship scheme where disadvantaged children’s school fees and educational needs are supplied. - a tertiary education sponsorship scheme where disadvantaged adult’s college/university fees and educational needs are supplied, and colleges are supported in quality improvement programmes. - children’s camps where the sponsored children are taught and discipled in the Christian faith - funding for resources in both the microloan and education programmes for mentoring in the Christian faith
