Public benefits

The charitable purpose of Poyntzpass Community Playgroup is the advancement of education. The purpose will not lead to any harm. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the advancement of the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play. These benefits are evidenced through beneficiary progress

monitoring and reporting arrangements, extensive governance procedures, and statutory inspection. The charities beneficiaries are all children under statutory school age of Armagh and Dungannon and its surrounding environs in County Armagh without distinction of age, gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is increased skills in governance and finance but this is incidental and necessary to ensure the proper running of the Playgroup.

What your organisation does

The cross-community playgroup in Poyntzpass has a proud history stretching back almost 30 years in meeting the needs of children and parents. The Playgroup currently provides a morning service of 24 pre school places for all children in the Poyntzpass area. It is managed by a voluntary committee representing the people of the area. We have secure

indoor and outdoor play facilities and, in addition, provide the opportunity for participation in trips during the year.
