The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: • access to the pre-school education expansion programme to children in the area of benefit; • delivery of an integrated service with local schools, promoting continued learning and the opportunity for early intervention; and • increased links with parents and their local community. These benefits can be demonstrated by: • the enrolment numbers and attendance register of the Playgroup; and • feedback from mandatory inspections from the Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI), Health & Social Care and the Environmental Office. • Feedback from parents/carers/schools; b) to support the values and principles of Early Years. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include: • the promotion and development of a high quality, evidence-informed early childhood service for young children, their families and communities; and • developing young people who are: - strong, competent and visible in their communities; - Physically and emotionally healthy; - Eager and able to learn; and - Respectful of difference These benefits can be demonstrated by feedback from the Playgroup’s Early Years Specialist. The beneficiaries are children under statutory school age, their parents/carers and the local community in Carrickfergus (the area of benefit). There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The only private benefit flowing from the purposes is staff/volunteers receiving training (and associated enhanced future employment opportunities) and this is incidental and necessary because the Playgroup is required to ensure minimum qualifications/vetting of staff to ensure we meet current legislation and minimum quality requirements.
