Public benefits
Purpose (Object) A - DCCA committee The direct benefits which flow from purpose (a) includes promoting general community projects of a social nature. These will be endorsed to the whole community regardless of religion, ethnic origin or personal background with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants; encouraging
local people to become active in a voluntary capacity to make life better for themselves and their neighbours. The participants learn new skills and share their own knowledge and skills with each other. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from participants and beneficiaries and by the level of uptake of our activities. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the rural areas of Drumaroad and Clanvaraghan, Co.Down There will be no private benefit to trustees. Purpose (Object) B – DCCA book club The direct benefits which flow from purpose (b) includes fostering social interaction through the medium of reading books. The club provides a great opportunity to widen participants’ choice of reading material and be introduced to new writers. These benefits are demonstrated through membership and attendance at monthly meetings and any feedback which they give us. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the rural areas of Drumaroad and Clanvaraghan. There will be no private benefit to trustees. Purpose (Object) C – DCCA Inter Agencies Group The direct benefits which flow from purpose (c) includes affording local people the opportunity to engage directly with statutory agencies, Local councillors, PSNI and government departments such as DRD to discuss local issues and concerns and to implement strategies to deal with these. These benefits are demonstrated through the number and range of agencies in attendance, minutes of quarterly meetings and the outcomes of these meetings. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the rural areas of Drumaroad and Clanvaraghan. There will be no private benefit to trustees. Purpose (Object) D – DCCA Men’s Shed The direct benefits which flow from purpose (d) includes providing a space where men over the age of 60 can feel at home, be sociable, pursue practical interests and stay active. The men’s shed will be promoted to the whole community regardless of religion, ethnic origin or personal background. These benefits are demonstrated through the number and background of men attending the mens shed and by using attendance and evaluation sheets. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the rural areas of Drumaroad and Clanvaraghan. There will be no private benefit to trustees. Purpose (Object) E – Annual Children’s Summer Scheme The direct benefits which flow from purpose (d) includes providing a space for local children of primary school age the opportunity to get involved in a range of activities and interests. It will afford participants the opportunity to learn new skills, to interact with children from other backgrounds and to have fun! The summer scheme will be promoted to the whole community regardless of religion, ethnic origin or disability. These benefits are demonstrated through the number of children attending and by using attendance and evaluation sheets. The purposes of our charity will not lead to any harm. The charity’s beneficiaries are people living in the rural areas of Drumaroad and Clanvaraghan. There will be no private benefit to trustees.
What your organisation does
Drumaroad and Clanvaraghan Community Association promotes, organises and manages general community projects of a social nature, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and surrounding rural area. The Association will seek to address individual and social needs within the community and make particular efforts to
enhance the lives of those who are disadvantaged in any way without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions.
