Public benefits

The direct benefits that flow from each of the stated purposes is the promotion, involvement and advancement of inclusive theatre, locally, regionally and nationally, for the benefit of the participants, families/friends and the public who attend stage productions. The direct benefits are evidenced by internal assessment, public attendance and

support, photo & video presentation, use of website and social media, annual accounts and reporting. This includes increased membership and participation in the group’s activities plus increasing public attendance at productions. There are no specific harms associated with the purpose of the charity. Any that are identified are outweighed by the social benefits of the group, using risk assessments, volunteer policy and training, Health and Safety policy and training and POCVA (Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults) policy and training. There are no private benefits to unintended beneficiaries. There is a nominal charge for participants and a charge for public to attend productions which is standard due to the costs of putting on productions or attending external events. Any member who is unable to pay the membership fee can be excused at the discretion of the Trustees, without question.

What your organisation does

The group meets on a weekly basis to rehearse for the current production. When there is no production in pipeline the group meets for drama workshops or social events, including theatre visits etc. The group is run by two main 'production directors' with experience in theatre, business and working with disabled. They are supported by volunteers

who are all ACCESS NI checked within the past two years. There are membership rules and also volunteer procedures and policies to ensure that the ethos of the group is upheld at all times. To ensure the group is accessible to all, there is a membership waiver scheme, whereby the weekly membership does not have to be paid if the member is unable to afford it. This is discretionary and confidential.
