Public benefits

As a direct result of the input of Ardglass Development Association, the benefits to the community and beneficiaries gained will include gaining a greater sense of be-longing to the community, improved confidence, awareness, well-being and health. The social/cultural and educational life for all will become inclusive and enhanced. The benefits will

be demonstrated through feedback from the local community and regular independent evaluations of the sense of well-being from community participation in education, sports, recreation, belonging and involvement. In providing the benefits there is no existence of harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are all residents and inhabitants of Ardglass and the surrounding area. Benefits to people who are not the intended beneficiaries are incidental. Volunteers may gain a sense of well being.

What your organisation does

We have community facilities, run classes, and provide a venue for people to meet and engage. Establish, maintain and equip premises and facilities where people in the area of benefit can benefit from the objects of the group. Provide or secure the provision of social services, educational and recreational facilities and practical assistance for

elderly and disabled people in the area of benefit. Provide or assist in the providing classes, lectures, exhibitions, outings and events. Provide day care facilities for children so as to enable parents to benefit from the objects of the group. Recruit, train and employ volunteers with relevant skills for the furtherance of the aims. Cooperate to such an extent as may be necessary with statutory authorities and voluntary organizations engaged in the furtherance of the above objects or any of them. Raise and accept money by way of grants, donations,bequests, legacies or other lawful method and give donate or disburse grants and loans to such related organizations or per objects as are by law deemed charitable provided that in the exercise thereof the group shall not engage in any form of permanent trading. Purchase take or lease or in exchange hire or otherwise acquire any property and any rights and privileges necessary for the attainment of the said objects and construct maintain and alter any buildings or edifices so necessary as aforesaid.

Charitable purposes

The aims and objectives of the association are to promote the welfare and quality of life of the people of Ardglass and surrounding district, regardless of gender, race, colour, nationality, religion or political creed, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organizations and residents in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the said residents.
