1. The advancement of religion, The benefits which arise from this object include helping young people develop a relationship with Jesus, and the moral and ethical framework resulting from this. Building effective partnerships with local churches, in line with our charitable object. These benefits are evidenced through evaluations (oral and
written) from volunteers, staff, schools, young people and churches, who identify positive moral changes within the young people. Young people have improved self worth and esteem, having an identifiable positive effect on relationships and increased desire to reach out to others in the community. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The charity’s beneficiaries are young people, those young people on the margins of Dromore’s community, churches, volunteers, staff and partner organisations. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is personal development, moral, ethical and spiritual benefit to young people, volunteers, staff and the greater community. 2. The advancement of education, The benefits which flow from the object include increased competences, understanding and skills of young people, with increased engagement in positive activities. These benefits are evidenced by feedback, written and oral, from volunteers, young people, public services and local community leaders. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The charity beneficiaries are young people aged between 8 and 25 years, volunteers, staff, parents, schools and community organisations. Dromore Youth for Christ employees, volunteers, young people and board members may receive a private benefit through training opportunities, which may arise.
What your organisation does
Dromore Youth for Christ is a youth organisation based in Dromore, Co Down, which seeks to provide spiritual, personal and social development to young people through informal education on a weekly basis. Our structured programmes include; drop-In, personal development groups, school's work, mentoring and detached outreach work. We offer services
to the local primary and secondary schools as well as helping provide training and support to the local churches. Volunteer and staff development are key to our progress, providing continual professional development opportunities regularly.
