Public benefits

To promote and preserve the Ulster Scots culture, heritage and history in Antrim and surrounding area. To provide an educational resource for Ulster-Scots and the advancement of education, culture and heritage and to provide a local educational resource for Ulster Scots. Beneficiaries are the general public especially those living in Antrim and

surrounding area and the benefits include increased awareness, understanding and knowledge which will be demonstrated through feedback received from people at our events, the general public who use the services plus regular independent evaluation of the service by the Ulster-Scots Agency. Private benefit may include training received by volunteers; this is incidental and necessary to allow the organisation to achieve its purpose. Beneficiaries are the general public especially those living in Antrim and surrounding area. Benefits include increased awareness, understanding and knowledge and will be demonstrated through feedback received from people at our events. To provide facilities in the interests of the social welfare, education, recreation or other leisure-time activities. Beneficiaries are the general public especially those living in Antrim and surrounding area. Benefits include increased social, educational and recreational opportunities and will be demonstrated by increased physical and mental well-being, reduced social isolation and general improvement in quality of life of users of our services. Private benefit may include training received by volunteers, this is incidental and necessary to allow the organisation to achieve its purpose. No Identifiable harm flows from any of these purposes. Additional benefits will arise through networking with other Ulster Scots groups and working the Ulster Scots Agency.

What your organisation does

Provide workshops on Ulster Scots history, to promote & preserve the culture & heritage of the Ulster Scots & create better understanding Traditional Ulster Scots music workshops We provide both accredited & non-accredited training to benefit the local public by providing a local educational resource. Provide 2 summer schemes during the summer

holidays. Aimed at children from 11-16 years, usually children from deprived areas, to keep them off the streets, provide educational play & learning. Local historical events & re-enactments Historical trips within N Ireland Networking events Funding applications to provide projects to & training We also aim to work & build relationships with other statutory bodies in the area to enable us to widen our training & educational opportunities,

Charitable purposes

A) To promote the Ulster Scots language by any means which are charitable under the law of N Ireland. B) To promote and preserve for the public benefit, the culture and heritage of local people, in particular those who reside in the Antrim town and surrounding areas but covering Northern Ireland. C) To promote and preserve for the public benefit, the Ulster Scots tradition in music, dance, ballads and storytelling and D) To facilitate the examination, exploration and appreciation by all of Ulster Scots history, heritage and culture in an open and positive manner to encourage mutual understanding.
