Public benefits
The Trustees believe that our purposes satisfy the Public Benefit requirement. We run events to promote companionship and friendship, learn new skills and promote social interaction. We encourage people to interact with the wider society in the form of talks, support and information and help those who live alone. We provide facilities in the
interest of social welfare for the advancement of education, the protection of health to improve the condition of life of our members. Purpose 1 EDUCATION The benefits that flow from this purpose include provision of additional programmes and opportunities, enhanced knowledge and capacity, and reduction of stress and anxiety due to rural isolation. This is evidenced through provision of educational programmes, increased number of participants, general feedback and evaluation. The benefits are for the elderly within the Ballymena area. There is no harm associated with this purpose. Any private benefit is incidental in terms of enhanced knowledge and capacity. Purpose 2 CITIZENSHIP AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT The benefits flowing from this purpose include health and well-being, improved provision of facilities and information, and the reduction of social isolation. This is evidenced through increase in number of activities provided, general feedback and evaluations. The beneficiaries are the elderly from the Ballymena area. There is no private benefit from this purpose.
What your organisation does
We organise a monthly meeting whereby all members meet up and those who live alone or in rural areas have transport to meetings. Approximately 40 people attend these meetings with a mixture of male and female members who are mainly pensioners. We organise day trips Have access to information for senior citizens.

To promote the benefit of the Seniors within the Ballymena Area without distinction of sex, race, political or religious or other opinions and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the advancement of education, the protection and preservation of health and recreation or other leisure time activities with the object of improving conditions of life for the members.
