The Northern Ireland Assembly and Business Trust meet the public benefit: By the Advancement of Education. The Northern Ireland Assembly and Business Trust meets this purpose through the provision of a wide range of activities including seminars, visits and placements. All activities are non-partisan, non-lobbying, mutually educational and
informative. These activities are aimed at offering politicians and businesses in Northern Ireland an opportunity to come together and share their knowledge and experience. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include information sharing which helps businesses develop a greater understanding of the political process and how they can get involved. It also helps politicians develop a greater understanding of the business sector helping them make informed decisions when reviewing Department policies. As a result of the foregoing the public generally in Northern Ireland and in particular the business community are benefited. The purpose does not lead to harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are businessmen and women, politicians and civil servants who are associated with The Northern Ireland Assembly and Business Trust or have attended an activity organised by the Trust. Its beneficiaries also include the public generally in Northern Ireland and in particular the business community. There is no private benefit.

The Northern Ireland Assembly and Business Trust organises activities including briefings, educational visits, fellowships and seminars and annual programmes in the Houses of the Oireachtas, Westminster and Europe which are aimed at offering politicians and businesses in Northern Ireland an opportunity to come together and share their knowledge and

Charitable purposes
The Objects for which the Trust is established are to advance and encourage public education or other charitable purposes beneficial to the community in connection with:- a) The art or science of government or other branches of political or economic science (with particular reference to the Government of Northern Ireland and of the European Union). b) The study of, and research into, methods of government, or of civil, commercial, industrial or other public organisations; and the publication, without prejudice to commercial confidentiality, of the useful results of such study and research.
