Public benefits

The direct benefits are increased self confidence, improved health, reduced isolation, fighting for the rights & benefits of older people and providing education and training for members and volunteers. The benefits are enourmous to our members. We demonstrate this by a growing membership, by continually evaluating and talking to members and by

for different projects we give them evaluation sheets. There isn't any harm or risks with our club. The charities beneficiaries are anyone, no matter what race, sex, colour, denomination or sexual orientation they are, so long as they are over 50 years of age. This is demonstrated by our present members some with physical disabilities, learning and sensory disailities and some with ill mental health. Some are carers and some are cared for. No member of the committee or volunteers benefit in any way from the COSY Club except to join in activities and projects.

What your organisation does

Our organisation meet twice weekly to provide the older people in the area with a forum to meet, talk, take part in projects, go on trips, socialise and provide them with a lunch on both days. We take part and organise events for our members and invite other older peoples clubs to participate. We provide a voice for the older people in the area by

representing them on various forums such as the Outer West Health Forum. We provide many services and workshops such as breast and prostate awareness. Our club is a place to come to, to have someone to talk to, someone to listen and someone to laugh with. Our main benefit is we combat social isolation and deprivation that is so common in this area.
