Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from our purpose include: -Reduced feelings of isolation through both health and well being and social support programme. -improved self confidence and self esteem. -support for members who have been bereaved, injured or traumatised by witnessing incidents during the troubles, as well as those who provide care to
those injured -support for members to become more active in their community again. -allow members to embark on a personal journey where they can recover, grow and sustain a sense of well being, moving forward into a shared future. - alleviate feelings of anxiety, stress and has increased their well-being. Further public benefit is derived from members helping to move into a shared future and by promoting reconciliation within our community. These shared experiences can strengthen our community and foster a spirit of reconciliation, as well as increasing cultural awareness. This will allow the wider community to work in unison and move society as a whole into a shared future. These benefits are demonstrated through the numbers of members who experience reduction in social isolation and increased self esteem. Families Moving is established for the benefit of the inhabitants of Omagh and its environs of County Tyrone. The group is an interdenominational victims and survivors group set up to support those affected by the Omagh bomb in 1998 and through terrorist related incidents during the troubles in the County of Tyrone. FMO provides a range of social support to help those in need who are victims/survivors of terrorism and troubles related violence. This includes older people, those disabled, suffering through ill health and experiencing financial hardship through being unable to work. It’s anticipated that the purposes flowing from Families Moving On will not lead to any harm being caused. There is no private benefit flowing from the purposes of Families Moving On.
