The Advancement of Education The benefit we provide is an education in a country where a large proportion of the population have no access to education because of a serious shortage of places within the state system due to the poverty within the country. The direct benefits we provide are the 600 plus school places from the building of schools. The
exceptional exam results achieved which are far superior to the state run schools. This benefits directly all the children living in the catchment area of the schools. The Prevention or Relief of Poverty Education is seen as the best way to break free from poverty within the country. We also run a feeding programme for all children accepted into school and for many of these children this is there main source of nutrition. The charity's beneficiaries are all the children given a school place. The Advancement of Health We offer basic healthcare to all children accepted into the school. This includes medication when they are ill and weekly vitamin supplements. The feeding programme also improves general health. This can be demonstrated by comparing children at the school with the other children in the area not at school. There is no hamr or private benefit flowing from the organisations purposes.
What your organisation does
We work in Burkina Faso in West Africa, one of the worlds poorest countries. Our main focus is education and we have built a nursery school, primary school, and a secondary school in Bobo- Dioulasso . These are funded with a child sponsorship programme. We are striving towards long term sustainability for these schools by helping them to become
more self sufficient. We have also helped fund the building of a further school in Diebougou. From time to time we also assist with other smaller projects providing they fall within our remit of poverty relief, advancement of education, or the advancement of health.
