Public benefits

With the majority of our work in Africa we provide workshop attendees with a range of skills to advance their education. These skills include leadership skills, skills for team work, negotiation skills, skills for project management and personal development skills which also includes conflict management. Those that attend are leaders from schools,

hospitals, women’s groups and rural development groups. They use the range of skills gained at our workshops to teach others the same values and skills that they have learned. This provides the greater public with a huge benefit as it helps all involved to develop life changing skills. Feedback from our workshops have stated that participants now have a greater understanding of and enhanced ability to: - engage with others - deal with how human groups develop differently - create effective methods of communication - deal with conflict in its complexity and ambivalence and transformative ways of engaging with it - control group life including showing authority, power and leadership - distinguish between thinking, feeling and knowing and ways to use this differentiation to enhance the life of groups There is no harm flowing from our purposes. The charity’s beneficiaries are those that attend our workshops in Africa & Ireland, but also the greater public that come into contact with our attendees. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is the remuneration paid to the staff of the charity. This is incidental and necessary because without their commitment and dedication the charity could not exist or operate.

What your organisation does

Provides leadership and training for men and women committed to developing a future marked by greater social justice and specifically to address the emerging needs of a multi cultural society. This will be achieved by facilitating leadership training, through Adult Education Workshops. This education is offered to voluntary, business, community,

educational and statutory organisations with a particular commitment to work with communities in areas of social and economic disadvantage. Works collaboratively with others to create spaces and places where together we can explore imaginatively ways of living justly on our planet. Works with people who believe in participating in the shaping of a future marked by greater social justice as expressed in right – relatedness, clarity about role, ability to deal with the complexity of people living/working towards a common aim as part of the community of all of life. Works with those who hold Leadership/Managerial roles to enhance their ability in working creatively and effectively with their teams. In particular, support women who strive to find new models and styles of Leadership/Management.
