Purpose 1 The trustees believe that our purpose satisfies both elements of the public benefit requirement. The benefit that flows from this purpose include an increase in the educational levels and employability and the social inclusion of excluded and isolated individuals. These benefits will be evidenced through the collection of feedback from
beneficiaries and a comparison made between educational levels at entry and completion points. There is no harm from this benefit. The charity’s benefits are provided to adults who wish to improve their educational standards and to increase their employability. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programmes of ongoing training in good governance, professional development, finance etc. This training will enable trustees to acquire further skills and experience that is transferable to other settings, these benefits are incidental and essential to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose 2 The trustees believe that our purpose satisfies both elements of the public benefit requirement. The benefits that flow from this purpose are social inclusion, an increase in health and well- being, an increase in skills, an improvement in the quality of life for individuals, families and wider community and an increase in capacity, ability skills and confidence levels of individuals. The evidence will be collected through ongoing monitoring and evaluation of feedback from individuals. This purpose should present no harm to individuals. The charity’s benefits are provided to adults who wish to increase their capacity, health and well-being in the area of benefit. There is no private benefit to trustees. Purpose 3 The trustees believe that our purpose satisfies both elements of the public benefit requirement. The benefit that flows from this purpose includes an increase in the physical and mental health and well being of individuals in the Strabane and Derry City Council area and in Co. Donegal.This will be evidenced through the ongoing collection of feedback from individuals who avail of this service.There is no risk of harm to individuals as measures have been developed to ensure safety of all involved. The beneficiaries of this purpose are those who wish to safeguard their mental and physical health and those who have been referred by public agencies. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. Purpose 4 The trustees believe that our purpose satisfies both elements of the public benefit requirement. The benefits that flow from this purpose include an increase in parenting and caring skills. This will be evidenced through the collection of feedback from parents and carers. This is no harm or risk of harm to parents or carers. The beneficiaries of this purpose are parents and carers in the Derry and Strabane District Council areas and in Co. Donegal. The beneficiaries of this purpose are parents and carers. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. Purpose 5 The trustees believe that our purpose satisfies both elements of the public benefit requirement. The benefit that flows from this purpose includes an increase in levels of awareness of sectarianism, discrimination and racism and a proactive contribution to the reconciliation process. This will be evidenced through the collection of feedback from the beneficiaries. There is no risk of harm with this purpose. The beneficiaries from this purpose are individuals and communities in the Derry and Strabane District Council areas and in Co. Donegal. There is no private benefit to the trustees flowing from this purpose.

Charitable purposes
The Company’s objects are specifically restricted to the advancement of community development, the advancement of education, the preservation of health, the relief of poverty, financial hardship and unemployment and the promotion of the benefit and wellbeing of the inhabitants and in particular but not exclusively women who are in need of assistance as a result of their poverty or social and economic circumstances (hereinafter called “the beneficiaries”) in the Derry and Strabane District Council area and Co. Donegal (hereinafter described as "the area of benefit") and in particular: (a) to advance the education of the beneficiaries and to relieve unemployment through the promotion, facilitation and organisation of adequate, accessible and quality programmes of vocational and educational training, employability services, resources, information and support in an effort to acquire new skills, qualifications and retraining to assist the beneficiaries in obtaining employment or establishing themselves in business; (b) to promote or assist in the promotion, facilitation and organisation of capacity building programmes and projects for the beneficiaries within the area of benefit who have need of such assistance as a result of their youth, age, ill health, disability or infirmity, or social and economic circumstances, by the provision of information and training, community development services, well-being activities, advice, mentoring, classes, workshops, support and instruction in an effort to increase the abilities, skills and self-confidence of the beneficiaries; (c) to promote the preservation and the safeguarding of mental and physical health and wellbeing by the provision of support, education and practical advice and in particular to provide and maintain a confidential service where individuals can receive counselling and support; (d) to provide training for parents and carers of children in child development, family learning, parenting and other appropriate subjects; (e) to promote the benefit of the inhabitants without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of fostering a community spirit and improving the conditions of life for the benefit of the inhabitants; (f) to advance any other exclusively charitable purpose as the directors, may from time to time, decide in accordance with the law of charity in Northern Ireland.
