What your organisation does
does, Cavanacarragh Community Association was established as the central focal point in the rural community of townlands, with members of the association being drawn from throughout the community living in these townlands. The most significant work of the association is to ensure that the community has a modern facility for everyone from the area
and visitors alike to use for a range of social, recreational and educational activities. The group’s most significant achievement to date has been to secure funding from many sources and major funding from The Big Lottery to transform what was a small Band Hall into the modern purpose built community facility which it is today. In recent years, the Association has joined with the Friends Of Topped Mountain Historical Society and Garvary Parish Church, in a cross community initiative, to restore a disused Lime Kiln in the area and this site is now used annually for an outdoor gathering of different religious communities for music, storytelling and dancing event.
