Public benefits
Purpose 1 The promotion and advancement in Northern Ireland of education and training through engagement with the general public, and in particular with those employed or seeking employment in the food and drink industry is a public benefit. This can be measured and evidenced through increased collective knowledge and understanding of the
sector by those involved or seeking to be involved in the industry, delivered at the point of need. The charity provides benefit through engaging in activities that help the public at large to benefit ultimately from a better provision of food and drink related supplies. In addition the direct benefit of participation in education and training will include improved educational outcomes leading to better employment prospects for those involved or seeking to be involved in the industry. The beneficiaries are the general public, and the public valuation of the benefits can be evidenced through increased knowledge and understanding of the food and drink sector through attendance at courses, seminars and other events together with increased employment in the sector. No Trustee receives remuneration, reward or other private benefit for carrying out their Trustee responsibility. Purpose 2 The direct benefits flowing from this purpose include the provision of training courses, facilities for training and information services together with the development and setting of standards for training to promote excellence within the food and drink sector in Northern Ireland. This is demonstrated through on-going provision of access to training, information and the use of our materials by wider society. There is no harm arising from the purpose. The beneficiaries are the general public.
