Roundabout Playgroup promotes play-based learning environments for all pre-school children. All children are accepted regardless of religion, ethnic identity etc. Staff works hard to plan activities which are educational to advance children’s learning. Children enjoy 2.5hours of play in a safe and secure environment, children also receive a

nutritious snack during the session. Parents are fully involved in the group through monthly bulletins, settling in reports and individual conversations to ensure parents are aware of their child’s progress. Parents/carers are welcomed at all times to the group and are invited to come along to parenting evening/meetings. This gives parents a chance to socialise with others. We provide high quality care to all children considering their needs through help and guidance from Early Years who support our group on a regular basis. There is no private benefit. The beneficiaries are the community of Dungiven and the surrounding area.

What your organisation does

Provide pre-school education for 3/4 year olds following the six areas of the curriculum and the department of education guidance. Children have access to free play as well as structured play throughout the session. They learn to develop independence, follow rules and routines which prepares them for entering the primary school environment.

Children have access to arrange of art and craft materials, construction, role play areas etc. Staff plan on a daily and weekly basis to meet the individual needs of every child through planning and observations. Children also have access to a safe and secure outdoor area as well as getting on school trips throughout the year i.e Christmas.

Charitable purposes

The group is established to promote play based learning environments for all children (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of the Dungiven and its surrounding environs in County Londonderry. (hereinafter called the 'area of benefit') without distinction of age, gender, martial status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular: a)to advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group play, with the right of parents/careers to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of the group: and to promote the preservation of health of the beneficiaries: and b) to support the values and principles of Early years.
