Public benefits
Purpose 1: the direct benefits which flow from this purpose include having the ability to preserve, show and demonstrate the history of motor vehicles and machinery, and the importance of the early developments in motor vehicles and machinery, and how they have played a role in society right through to modern day. Purpose 2: the direct benefits
are educating members of the public and community in the rich history and cultural developments that have taken place within local areas in both the distant and not so distant past. Purpose 3: future proofs the work of the organisation allowing it to only work for charitable aims for the benefit of the public. The benefits are demonstrated by ongoing evaluation, comments, satisfaction surveys from participants and overall evaluations of events and projects. There is no harm flowing from any of our purposes. The benefit is to people within the Caledon and Mid Ulster Council area and its environs including local residents, historical groups, and community groups, through promotion of intergenerational education without religious, racial, sexual, age, or any other form of discrimination. We act as a hub within the local community by bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds in a mutually beneficial experience. A private benefit to volunteers may arise through a programme of ongoing training in good governance, finance etc. Through this training volunteers will gain skills and experiences which will be transferable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
We are set up to appreciate and keep alive old motor vehicles, tractors and machinery of by-gone times. The club arranges meetings, tours, events and information evenings. The main annual event primarily is the staging of a Vintage Rally in Caledon village. Our group is run by a small number of enthusiastic men and women formed into a committee and
members who share a love of local history, bygone motor vehicles and agricultural machinery. All of this work is carried out voluntarily and with no financial gain to the members. We intend to use our profits in the future to promote more of these projects over the next few years. We will measure the effectiveness of our work by the numbers attending our events and exhibitions, by the numbers of people becoming involved in our activities, and through ongoing evaluations and surveys. There is no harm flowing from our activities.
