Strabane SureStart Community Creche / The Beeches Management Committee's purpose is to : 1. Support parents to access training and advice through the provision of drop in creche services. 2 Enhance the development of young children through the provision of creche services,SureStart developmental Programme for 2 yr olds and Stay & Play

Programmes. Purpose 1. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include improved parenting skills, improved mental and physical health, reduction in levels of parental stress. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback through parents / carers and feedback from referral agencies. This information is collected from course evaluations and the annual customer satisfaction questionnaire. The beneficiaries of this purpose are parents / carers and young children living in the Strabane- North, South, East, West, Ballycolman, Dunnamanagh, Plumbridge, Sion Mills & Finn District Council Wards. There are no private benefits to Trustees except the skills and experiences gained enhance employability. Purpose 2 The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include improved social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development. Also, early identification of developmental problems and early referral to support services. Children are also better prepared for the transition to pre-school nursery school and Primary School. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from parents / carers, healthcare professionals and pre-school teachers. The beneficiaries of this purpose are children under 4 years attending SureStart 2 year old programmes in Strabane - North, South, East, West, Ballycolman, Dunnamanagh, Plumbridge, Sion Mills & Finn District Council Wards. There are no private benefits to Trustees except the skills and experiences gained enhance employability.

What your organisation does

Strabane SureStart Community Creche / The Beeches Management Committee provide five drop in creches to enable parents to attend parenting courses, health related courses and for respite for parents under stress. Creche places are free of charge. The creche is a universal service to families in the catchment area but some places are targeted at

families in most need. We also provide 7 SureStart Developmental Programmes for 2 year olds to prepare children for the tranistion to playschool nursery school. 50% of places are allocated to children identified as having additional needs. We also run 5 Stay & Play Programmes to encourage parent / child attachment throught the medium of play.

The aim of the Group shall be to: Provide stimulating play, improve language skills and identify and support children with learning difficulties Support parents in improving their own and their children's health and development.
