Direct Benefits flowing from the Purposes of the Trust to our direct beneficiaries are: - Excellent training in all aspects of priestly ministry - Academic instruction in the relevant disciplines to support such ministry - Pastoral formation in the techniques and skills required for interaction with people across all of the various areas of
outreach - Moral and religious instruction for the professional and ethical exercise of ministry Direct Benefits flowing from the Purposes of the Trust and to our indirect beneficiaries are: - The broader moral and ethical edification of the general public ministered to in the Roman Catholic parishes and dioceses of Northern Ireland. - The upholding and advancement of religion and religious values which becomes of advantage to the public through the working mission of the Church and through personal relationships and social and cultural engagement viz: - The relief of poverty (local and global), education, healing, and disability issues, among the general public. - The promotion of equality issues and human rights, and the reconciliation of conflict among the general public. - The promotion of cultural, artistic, heritage-related objectives, because of the engagement with music, heritage buildings and liturgy and the public benefit of same - The care and protection of the environment. - The promotion of religious and racial harmony among the populace. The Direct Benefits are capable of being demonstrated, proven and evidenced by a suite of awards from Diploma through Bachelors, Masters, Licentiate and Doctoral Degrees. These in turn are granted by the Pontifical University Maynooth in tandem with National University of Ireland Maynooth and the Holy See. All awards are recognised by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland and internationally via the Bologna Agreement. All awards are externally examined and peer reviewed according to best international, academic and training standards and are published annually in the Kalendarium. The Direct Benefits are also evidenced in the quality of the scholarly writings, preaching, certified chaplaincy services which the beneficiaries display both during their time of study/formation and later in their ministry and community leadership roles throughout the parishes and dioceses of Northern Ireland. There is no evidence of any harm which may arise from the purpose in any sector of the organisations activities. The beneficiaries thus of this charity are immediately the Roman Catholic congregations in Northern Ireland. However many of the direct benefits listed also benefit the wider population in Northern Ireland. There no private benefits that accrue to unintended beneficiaries that we know of.
What your organisation does
The Trust manages the funds raised from Northern Ireland donations towards the education of Priests for the Northern Ireland Dioceses. The charitable purposes are two-fold, the advancement of education and advancement of religion, both of which are to public benefit. Collects donations from Northern Ireland donors who donate to the campaigns run by
St. Patricks College Maynooth for the education of Priests. The trust then grants these funds to Maynooth in respect of the training of seminarians and priests for the Northern Ireland Dioceses
