The direct benefits deriving from the organisations purpose includes improvement of the quality of life for residents, improved services to and in the area, clean and tidy estate and a well maintained and settled area. The beneficiaries of this purpose are those primarily who live in Loughgilly and includes visitors to the area. The benefit can

be demonstrated by feedback from the residents, visitors and statutory agencies who work in partnership with the Residents Association. A private benefit may arise to trustees in developing their skills and experience through the many opportunities to access training. These benefits are incidental and crucial for effective community development and engagement thus ensuring the benefits are passed on to the beneficiaries.

What your organisation does

We run social events through out the year, drop in club for senior citizens, outings and events for children, teenagers and parents and Computer classes for all age groups. We hold monthly committee meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, we try to deal with problems that araise and give the information/telephone numbers needed for those who

need this information. Our community base provides: 2 keep fit rooms, a pool playing room,a dart playing room and a computer room.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to: 2.1 relieve poverty, sickness and the aged and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Loughgilly and district areas of Co. Armagh and its environs without distinction of age, gender, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
