Public benefits

The benefits which flow from purpose (1) include: the relief of people with disabilities, building confidence and self-esteem through participation in arts activities, thus improving health and well being. Improved social outcomes, physical/mental health and well being and stress reduction for members and their carers. These benefits are

evidenced through information received from post project reports as well as feedback from Stakeholders at regular management meetings. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our ongoing programme of activities in which trustees may gain skills and confidence which can then also be transferred to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. The benefits which flow from purpose (2) include: improved self-confidence and self-esteem of participants, opportunities to work with others with similar interest, thus creating new friendships. Improved social outcomes, physical and mental health and well being as well as stress reduction for members and their carers through the provision of activities and facilities in which members can meet and socialise. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from participants and at quarterly management meetings. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our ongoing programme of activities in which trustees may gain skills and confidence which can then also be transferred to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. The benefits which flow from purpose (3) include: improved health and well-being; increased skills, talents and opportunities to showcase these talents to the general public. These benefits will be evidenced through feedback and consultation from our members and their regular attendance at management meetings. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our ongoing programme of activities in which trustees may gain skills and confidence which can then also be transferred to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. The benefits which flow from purpose (4) include: increase in well-being through arts activities, improving self-confidence and self-worth and sharing common interests and skills with others in the group. These benefits will be evidenced through feedback and consultation from our members and at management committee meetings. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our ongoing programme of activities in which trustees may gain skills and confidence which can then also be transferred to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Dungannon Arts & Disability Stakeholders’ Group exists to empower, enhance & enrich the quality of the lives of people with disabilities, in the Dungannon & South Tyrone area, through a participatory creative experience delivered by professional artists. Since its inception in 1996 the group has successfully given people with disabilities the opportunity to discover and develop skills in various art forms. As well as the new skills learnt and the sharing of knowledge by the participants, this programme is also a very valuable social outlet contributing immensely to both participant and carer’s health and wellbeing. Feedback from participants involved and centres participating in activities is always very positive.

Dungannon Arts & Disability Stakeholders’ Group exists to empower, enhance & enrich the quality of the lives of people with disabilities, in the Dungannon & South Tyrone area, through a participatory creative experience delivered by professional artists. Since its inception in 1996 the group has successfully given people with disabilities the

opportunity to discover and develop skills in various art forms. As well as the new skills learnt and the sharing of knowledge by the participants, this programme is also a very valuable social outlet contributing immensely to both participant and carer’s health and wellbeing. Feedback from participants involved and centres participating in activities is always very positive.

Charitable purposes

The Association is established to advance education, promote the arts and relieve people with disabilities within the Borough of Dungannon and South Tyrone and its environs of County Tyrone and County Londonderry (hereinafter called the area of benefit) and in particular: To promote and encourage participation by people with disabilities in all or any aspects of the arts, including the visual and dramatic arts, music and dance, and provide opportunities for such participation; To raise awareness (through the use of artistic means) among the general public about the experiences and abilities of people with disabilities within the area of benefit and an appreciation amongst the general public of disability arts; and To provide, or assisting in the provision of facilities for education, recreation or other leisure-time occupation for the benefit of disabled people within the area of benefit.
