What your organisation does
We facilitate a community based dance project in the Magherafelt area, to make dance open and assessable to the maximum number of young people from the local community and surrounding area. We organise or assist in organising dance classes and offer young people involved the opportunity to achieve recognised qualifications such as UKA
examinations, everyone at their own level, take part in activities/events and cultural dance displays across the province. The classes offer life skills such as functioning in a group; taking instruction and giving those most disadvantaged a chance to raise standards, offering a sense of belonging in a group environment. We recognize that dancer's develop at their own pace and are committed to ensuring that all abilities are catered for, students to meet new friends, learn a skill and promote this within the community to all cultures.
