Public benefits
The purpose of the organisation is to hold and maintain properties central to the fabric of the town of Magherafelt and to use any resulting income for the continued maintenance and improvement of such properties. These properties have been held on Trust by the organisation (the Trustees) since 1889 and, as such, are key to the character of the
town. These properties are used, where possible, for hosting public events or charitable organisations. Donations from the rental income of the properties are made yearly to other charitable organisations within the Town of Magherafelt, therefore benefiting the public further. The Magherafelt Market Trustees intend to benefit the section of the Public known as the inhabitants of the Town of Magherafelt. In that regard they will not provide a private benefit to individuals unless this benefit is incidental to their aforementioned intention. Their intended beneficiaries shall be both present and future generations of those described individuals.
What your organisation does
The Magherafelt Market Trustees hold, maintain and acquire properties central to the fabric of the town of Magherafelt and to use the properties and any resulting income for the continued maintenance and improvement of such properties. In particular this activity shall provide facilities for group, organisations, companies and individuals to
provide a mix of environments, services and opportunities that may not otherwise be available to the inhabitants of Magherafelt. The use, maintenance and improvement of these buildings maintain the character of the town. The properties are used not only for public events and charitable organisation but raising income that is then distributed to local charitable organisations within the town of Magherafelt. These organisations are not limited in any way to ensure all or as wide a spectrum as possible of inhabitants of Magherafelt benefit.
