Purpose 1 - The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include: increased self worth and self esteem, the raising of the person’s employability, ability to complete tasks, acquiring of new skills, and qualifications as well as giving the person a sense of belonging and purpose in life. People able to through these move from social exclusion
to inclusion, experience increased mental health and feel empowered. These benefits will be evidenced through people becoming employed, feedback from the participants, and regular evaluation of services. There is some risk of harm in that income generation sources can fluctuate which might mean redundancies etc. In order to reduce this harm, the Charity will ensure good governance, a good and diverse income stream, and ensure financial policies, boundaries and accounting are in place. Purpose 2 - The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include: increased self worth and self esteem, the raising of the persons employability, ability to complete tasks, acquiring of new skills, and qualifications as well as giving the person a sense of belonging and purpose in life. These benefits will be evidenced through amount of people gaining qualifications, feedback from the participants, and regular evaluation of services. Purpose 3 - The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include people are able to gain access to affordable quality furniture and household goods. Participants have increased quality of life. This will be evidenced by the number of households benefiting from furniture and goods sales and donations, feedback and testimonials of how their quality of life has improved. Purpose 4 - The direct benefits that flow from this purpose include reduction of harm to the environment. This will be evidenced by measuring the weight of amount of goods and furniture being recycled. Purpose 5 - The direct benefits that flow from this purpose is that the Charity will when needs arise try make the most of charitable opportunities that may benefit the community. This will be evidenced by new enterprise projects emerging within the charity. There are no private benefits flowing from these purposes. If there are any they would be incidental, such as trustees gaining knowledge and skills and confidence and are required for the development of the charity. Kairos Enterprises operates from The Ark Community Gardens. This facility provides help, support, mentoring and volunteering opportunities for a wide range of individuals and organisations.
