Public benefits

The benefit flowing from purposes 2.1 include improved health and well-being, reduction in social exclusion and levels of stress and anxiety, increased provision of facilities. This is evidenced through the increased number of activities provided, and general feedback from users. The benefits also include the increased skills and knowledge of

the participants and the lifelong learning for all age groups from our activities. There is no harm associated with these purposes. The charity’s beneficiaries are those residing in the North Antrim area, particularly Ramoan. Any private benefit is incidental in terms of advanced health and well-being, improved access to services/facilities, enhanced knowledge/capacity, reduction of social isolation and improved educational opportunities. The social activities that we organise alleviate both rural and social isolation. Members who attend have stated how our social events have had a beneficial impact on their health and well-being. This view is also supported by attendees immediate family members who transport the people to the hall. The Trustees do not see any potential harm. The benefit is for the people of the Ramoan area in particular and others from the North Antrim area. The only private benefit to trustees may arise from training in good governance. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. The direct benefits that flow from this include practical assistance for people in the Ramoan area, including social nights and information on entitlements to increase the income of those living in poverty. All our activities and facilities are accessible and affordable to the people who attend. The Trustees do not see any potential harm. The only private benefit is the additional knowledge gained but this benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries.
