The public benefits arising from the purposes are as follows:- Tobermore Community Projects have facilities within their building at 6 Desertmartin Road Tobermore. The benefits of this are that it can be used by any groups who wish to provide recreational or other leisure time activities for the inhabitants of Tobermore and district. This means

that local people have access to a comfortable community space, access to the kitchen, toilets, public parking and internet facilities. Tobermore Community Projects have the use of a large community hall which can be accessed by people of all ages from Tobermore and district. It is used to provide drama classes for young people, keep fit for people of all ages, community exhibitions, birthday parties, GB and BB activities, indoor football, monthly discos for teenagers, concerts and public meetings. It is open to all residents of Tobermore and district. People have a space big enough for the activities mentioned above which is safe, secure and comfortable and can be booked by any local group through the organisation. Tobermore Community Projects charge a small fee for hall hire which goes towards rent and up keep. Local people can participate in classes, talks, lectures and exhibitions. This gives them an opportunity to meet and socialise, to improve their education and knowledge, to learn new skills and add to their quality of life without having to travel outside of their own community. The committee is constantly trying to access funding from a whole variety of sources. When this is successful the committee are in a position to offer the social, educational and recreational activities mentioned above. This benefit is measured by the number of funding applications which are successful. The benefits flowing from this purpose are measured by numbers participating by regular monitoring during and after recreational facilities and by in depth discussions with the organisers of such activities. There is no harm flowing from any of these activities and there is no private gain as the facility is managed by a group of volunteers.

What your organisation does

Tobermore Community Projects provides a purpose built facility in the village of Tobermore with access to meeting rooms, classrooms, small kitchen, public parking and internet facilities. It also leases a community hall in the village of Tobermore which it makes available to any group interested in organising a function for the inhabitants of

Tobermore and district providing that such function meets with the intense and purposes of the organisation. The group also organises educational, recreational and other leisure time activities for people of all ages who live in Tobermore and district. The group continues to work hard to access funding whenever its available from any source compatible with the principles of the organisation. It aims to improve the lives of the inhabitants of all ages from the village of Tobermore and surrounding district.

Charitable purposes

The Projects is established: To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Tobermore and district area of Co Londonderry and its environs (hereinafter described as “the area of benefit”) without distinction of age, sex, race, political, religious or other opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare, for recreation or other leisuretime occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
